Urgent Seat Removal Q

In the process of swapping my cup seats for leathers and it starts to poor down with rain and has been for 4 hours now!!!

I did the passenger seat first but am having trouble with the wiring underneath. There is grey and yellow connector which i have sorted out and then there is a black one which i think is the pretensioner sensor. I cannot disconnect this from the car.

Anyone know how it opens? Has a wierd red clip but cant seem to do anything with it.

OK everything is sorted now other than a tiny black switch which i think i have snapped. Its only on the drivers side and has a wierd piece of metal hanging out that presses the switch on and off.

Anyone know what this is and if its neccessary?

P.S. Its pooring down still and its really cheesing me off and im in a bad mood and want them to just go in! Didnt know it was such a big job!

^^ if so i drilled mine out!! and just taped it back up as it was orginally closed up (forced against a flat surface!

yeah thats the thing i thought you was on about! (only on the drivers side) what have you broken??!! didnt you just drill the rivit out??

I just pulled the seat out and saw that hanging out LOL.

you need to cut all the tie wrap slacken the material off the seat and feed it out!! thats it!

Yep i have done that and put it back on to the new seat. Seatbelt pretensioner is on, pretensioner/airbag connectors are all plugged back in and htis is all thats left and dont know what to do with it now.

Remember i havent got cool buckets like urs, just standard seats that still need the connectors lol!

And putting airbags into something that doesnt have airbags lol!

i was told by gaz197 he said it was something to stop the airbag from going off if your to close to the steering wheel but im not sure about that i thought it was to do with the pretenstionar thing! but he may be right! have you broke it then?? i just taped mine up making the silver fit fit flush against the plastic part (as it was orginaly pressed against the seat) and thats it!! did you drill the rivit out??

OK i did read about steering wheel thing so maybe i'll just tape it back seeing as the seat is always far back anyway!

mine was secured with a little rivit as per the instructions on cliosmods! site!

Do u know if the switch needs to be closed or open?

If i tape it up that means the switch will be pressed in so will airbag on steering wheels still work?

well it was orginally fixed and closed tight pushed up against a flat surface you can hear the switch when you press it! when its was fixed there wasnt any movement!!! so its got to be closed imo!

with your seats there should be a hole you can put a self taper in to i! and fit it flush like it should be - or as i say just tape it up! i havent head any problems and i just taped mine up

Found the rivet but cant be fixed really....i dont think.

I am tempted to drill out the rivet and superglue it back but dont see much point lol!

Yeh we taped it up but now all my airbag lights are on so guess it needs to go to Renault to have ECU reconfigured!

Should be fine though with the help of a certain mate! hehe

I still need to bolt the seat back in but its pouring and getting worst so gonna have to wait!
