Urgent Steering Rack Subframe Mount Rubbers Issue

Hi Guys


After having my sub frame out the other week I now have found a little issue, basically where the rack mounts to the subframe there is 4 bolts that clamp the rack down, the rubber in that mount has some how perished, this is causeing a tiny bit of free play in the rack.


Anyone had this issue before?
is there even a rubber serviceable part there?
do the clamps come off the rack?
can it all be done without taking that whole dam thing apart?
Can any rack place fix this cheaply ?
Renault only part?


did I maybe cause all this when i removed the rack?

My rack mounts are also perished and there was a bit of movement in the rack until I tigtened the bolts. I beleive you can get the rubber rack mounts seperatly from Renault. With the sub frame out it wont be too hard to swap them out.

Yes, you can buy the rack mounts - bit of a fiddle to fit, but can be done without removing anything, and made a good difference to my steering after I changed minw

I have the standard rack in my 2005 182 F1 Cup and need to replace the bushes behind the rack clamps / mount as 1 is destroyed, I actually found one of a wrecked 172 but it is 4 mm wider then the original one, I think this is only because I needed to replace the drivers side one and the part I have is off the pass passengers side.


I gave my Vin number to Renault but they are unsure as there is several different racks for our cars and need to know which one it is, I cannot find anything written on the rack maybe these pics can help:

ended up at local pick a part wrecker, my car 182, and found the same part on a 172, all fixed all perfect steering again.
