USA headunit

Does anyone know if a head unit from the USA will be compatible in a UK car? are the connections all the same?

My mate had one in his 205 and it wouldn't pick up odd numbers...

So Radio 1 in Bristol is either 99.5 or 98.9 and it couldn't find them. It could only get 99.4 or 99.6 etc.

It may be different now as this was a good 7/8 years ago.

My trusty Alpine 9835 is a US unit and it works fine and has done for the past few years

The answer is..it depends.

The connections are the same. However, the radio will only go up in even numbers. As Dan said. Some units you can change this, other's you can't. If you do not listen to radio. It isn't an issue. If you do, could be a problem. Usually, there is a setting hidden in the HU somewhere to alter the way it seeks stations.

Oh thanks a lot guys. They are a lot cheaper over here so im gunna save a fair bit on it. Bit of extra money to spend on other things for the clio :)

Just read your post Wozzaa. I dont really listen to the radio so it is probably still worth the saving.

Thanks

Mine can do odd/even however it came like this! So as above may need to be changed it seems but it is capable of doing so!

got a rockford fosgate a few years back imported

the decent expensive head units will allow you to change the radio to either europe/usa range
