used bilberry last night still dirty

used billberry last night on the wheels in a 1:1 ratio or there about. but the wheels are still dirty what else can i do ?

well you dont just spray on n then hose off bud, you need to adjetate it with a brush then power wash off. Or have you done that?

Here we go again. Same old s**t about bilberry being a "good wheel cleaner", not aimed at you McBunny but i bet someone will have said bilberry is a good wheel cleaner for removing stubborn shite, which its not.


Dirty as in what, still have that orange brake dust that wont shift?


How did you apply? Spray on then wash off?

Get a brush and aggitate the wheels, use it neat if you have to. Bilberry isnt really strong IMO.

I aggitated it with a brush but still had crap left on the wheel - will probably take the wheels off soon and try it with some elbow grease.

Then go buy some new wheel cleaner and cheap clay, and something to remove tar like tardis.

Espuma Revolution is a good wheel cleaner for removing stubborn s**te like brake dust, i use it neat sometimes and work it with a brush, doesnt take long to shift stubborn grime. Non acidic too.

If you want something acidic then use wonder wheels, youll get it at halfrauds.

I suggest you remove the wheel, clean it properly using the above products and then protect it with some cheap wax or sealant, Collinite 476 springs to mind. Dont use any of the above on a regular basis if your going to take time to seal your wheels, as the are hugely aggressive.

i sprayed on left for a while sprayed gain and agitated with a brush its still got like dirty brown marks on them some seemingly quite thick

could try the tar remover i suppose

i dont clean cars usually so i though id give it ago

Sounds like your technique could use a little work, but once you've got the first stubborn lot off, and sealed the wheels, it should no longer be a problem....

Personally if they were really quite dirty I would have:

Sponged off with warm water and fairy liquid (kills grease quite well)
Rinsed with pressure washer or similar
Sprayed on bilberry, left for a bit, agitated well with brush, in every nook and cranny
Rinsed with pressure washer or similar
If they're still bad, go over again with bilberry
Sponge off again with fairy liquid

If they come up nice and clean, seal them, well, this'll make the job 10x easier in future.

I know what your talking about. get some Acidic based wheel cleaner like wonder wheels and aggitate like f**k. Just make sufre your wheels are not bubbling or anything.

Have you read the instructions on the Bilberry bottle?

I don't know how dirty the wheels are, but 1:1 isn't gonna shift much. I'm sure it says to use 4:1 or something along those lines for more stubborn dirt. Get them sealed and then 1:1 will do the trick in future if they are cleaned regularly..

I use it neat quiet a bit for the really stubborn bits. If not I whip out the harsher stuff.

I find it good on regularly cleaned wheels, stubben stuff requires something stronger. In my case i usually reach for the wonder wheels, occasional use is nothing to worry about imo.

Elbow grease is the only way to go. Hot soapy water and hard effort other wise you are just going to damage the paint. I use billberry but only if really needed, and normally its very weak.

Megs wheel brightener might be worth a go, can be used neat if needs be but rinsed off well (smells delicious too).

Whatever you use will take A LOT of elbow grease... wheels need to be constantly cleaned and, more importantly, protected if you don't want them ending up fcuked!

Just use acid Get down to your local polish wash and ask for some neat sprayed on and agitate it there, Your wheels will clean in no time.

I took my old ones into work and used some of the wheel acid there, Fook me its evil but it bloody works

I used CIF cleaner on a few really bad spots on the inside. It shifted it a little bit..
