Using 4S as a wifi hotspot

Can I connect the 4S to a wifi router, then use the phone as a hotspot to dish out this single connection to a few laptops/ps3 etc?

I don't think so. Why can't you connect everything else to the wifi router too?

Because it's paying one, and it uses mac address to only allow so many devices to connect.

I do this by using the personal hotspot's on my 4S to then connect my iPad2 to get the 3G from my phone.
Works very well I think. Saved my buying the £100 extra 3G iPad and then the £10 monthly contract for the 3G signal.

I am however not sure if it will work from the way you are asking. Which you may end up playing the ps3 over 3G.

It wont do it the way you want to do it.

It will only generate its own network.
