The M6 didn't open it up straight away IMO, you can see that at one point it surges ahead (after it's passed and is in front for a few seconds, it then pulls away convincingly). To do that needs big power - I think it was just pacing itslef with them all, as it would wipe the floor with the m3 at those kinds of speeds, let alone a CTR.
