V6 as a daily car?

  Black Gold with cup packs
I am not really concerned about the petrol costs as I am covering 26mpg now so it can't get much worse, just servicing cost, tyre wear ect would be my main concern. I cover around 200-220 miles a week.

Remarkably easy to live with.

Only downsides
~ 20MPG
Very low bumper so ramps / speed humps are an issue
Turning circle makes mini-roundabout U turns impossible, and some multi-story car parks a pain.

But it makes me smile every day when I get in to drive to / from work. It is genuinely special and makes the mundane bearable!:approve:

About 11,000+ miles a year
But insurance for a 23 year old would be quite alot.

lol. Erm, round town about 16.6mpg.

Pay about 200£ a month on fuel. No problem in the mornings, sometimes a little hard to get in gr when cold...
In traffic jams it's ok, gets a little warm, but nothing out the ordinary.

It's just a thirsty clio.

Turning circle isn't an issue imo. I've never considered it to be a negative factor.

I used to do 90 odd miles a day in my mk1 v6, the only problems i had was obviously petrol, my highest mpg was 23.4, not so good, and the other was boot space, but i enjoyed every mile!! More so than the 172 i had before!!! Go for it!!!

But now i have a mk4 golf gt tdi pd 150!!! Do miss the v6!!

Bit of a pain in London back streets.

Gets you noticed easily when dogging.

The neighbours complain when you start it up in the morning.

People stare even more when the side fans start up.

If I could use mine everyday, I would. I look for excuses not to use the family car.

i use mine as a daily driver, only thing is, its a bag of spanners starting from cold, its not really a fan of short journeys, but once its warm it comes alive....

apart from that, and the 5 point turns everywhere, its a very docile car if you want it to be. costs about £45 to fill it with the good stuff and does about 250 miles on average urban driving out of a tank.

perfect - did 2 years, 40k miles in ours, never thought it was a pain, never caused a problem to use it everyday, in and out of London or around town - best grin factor ever, and, being female, the fuel consumption was never as bad as some of these guys !!! averaged out around 25mpg I reckon - except on road trips or tracks !!! ;)
do it, do it, do it, not many folks regret owning one !!!

did you know the wires on one of the exhaust sensors had been stripped back and left bare? someone had messed with it, it was using more fuel than it should've been!
