V6 Exhaust

Hello All...

I have just recently got my V6!!! Was wondering if anyone on here has changed the exhaust? Think it is one of the only things that let it down at the min.... I was thinking of the Ktec exhaust? Anyone heard or seen this?

Regards

I have seen the K-Tec exhaust and there is now a picture up on their website. It is a nice bit of work and they have paid attention to the details like ensuring the tailpipes are centered in the openings. Some pretty nice looking curved pipework. It is not very loud/dramatic but is a good price and does sound nice.

I had mine made by a company in Battersea called Quicksilver. It is a lot smaller than the original but with larger tailpipes. It is very, very noisy but you get used to that and the sound of it with the Viper IK @ above 4000 rpm scares small children and animals! (I spoke to a chap called David Clark at Quicksilver. The exhaust is in "EVO" spec because it was originally designed for Tony Bailey from EVO when he was running a MK1 as a long term test)

The difference is that the K-Tec one is circa £400 and I paid circa £800.

Almost forgot to add - dont believe if it you are quoted huge power gains by fitting the exhaust. I noticed a small difference but as there are 4 cats in the way it is not going to be enormous.

Firm called Hayward and Scoot. I believe they do custom ones. Might be able to help you out. Might be a bit pricey. But would be a nice bit of kit!

Just thought Id menton that my car has the Renault stainless steel one fitted, this was an option on the Mk1 apparantly,.............because the first owner didnt like the fact that the standard one was showing signs of surface rust.....................which all mild steel sysytems will do very quickly.

Anyways it was supplied and fitted by SMC Renault in Woking at a cost of £874 + vat:eek: that was back in March 2001.

Cheers Stuart
