V6 Performance Upgrade Advice

Car  clio 182, clio v6 mk2
Hi I got a V6 mk 2, all standard, I was going to part ex it but now ive decided to keep it.

Am looking for advice on a non turbo, true power gain upgrades.

My thoughts are pipercross induction, orbisoud (full system if one is available) and maybe a motec upgrade.

I wondered if the motec was worth getting and if so, would this upgrade give reliable motoring.

I'd like to get more punch on pull off.

Cheers

you loaded???

mine (and no its not finished before anyone asks!)

Motec is over 3k! Orbisoud don't do a full system, although there is a group buy on v6 forum.

I've got remap, filter ans zorst! love it!!

somewhere, nothing exciting though

"and so it begins" i think it was called, only about 18month old thread LOL

why motec?
you can chose also good SA for less as Autronic, ViPEC or even cheaper like VEMS or MS

but, to be honest, I don`t see why would you put SA in you car if you do not plan to do some big changes on the engine, like Fred did

Omex would be in the region of 2k off the top of my head, so considerably less than Motec. Charlie at Pro-speed would be the man to talk to about exhausts

you would probably get much more benefit from a set of kw v3's to be honest, i'd do that and upgrade the brakes before doing anything power wise.

Prospeed do a nice looking exhaust system.

The Motec unit is a tad expensive. For just a few minor engine mods you might consider one of the others or maybe even just a remap.

Looks smart though. :)

^^ it's just a standalone ECU, like Emerald, DTA, megasquirt, VEMS, the list goes on and on.
Motec is good stuff, like emerald and DTA

Do a supercharger conversion. You know you'll only want more power after a few months anyway :)

Good link to the tech stuff, reminds me of when i used to be on mloc.

I do fancy a orbisoud they say nothing else compliments the engine as good, and a wicked sound. Would a remap give any noticable difference? Am thinking of a sports cat, do you need a certain amount of back pressure on the system so that you dont loose performance on the v6, with it being non turbo???

many thanks

yeah it was on a blue one

Did it have JET on the number plate by any chance?

An illiad mk2 from Chesterfield had the full orbisound system on it and apparently sounded the dogs ganglies! (One of Glennv6's neighbours owned it)

Blakey on V6Clio.net is trying to sort out a group buy on an Orbisound mate. He thinks with 10 of us in he can get them for approx £750 each. Get your name down!
