V6 questions!

Hello everybody!
I am new and looking to find as many details as possible about the clio V6 engine.
First of all, as far as I know, there are two versions available; the 230 and 255 BHP ones.
Does anybody know what are the differences between these two? I mean, if you have a 230 BHP version, can you convert it to the 255 one? If yes, what do you need?
Are the gearboxes the same?

Finally, does anybody know where I could possibly find one of these engines?

Thanks

iirc they're the same basic block, revisions in inlet/exhaust and revised ecu brought them up to the mk2's 255

not sure about box though

mk2 box will fit although the clutches and flywheels are different...

correct about the induction ...bigger inlet manifolds etc...

So, all the internals of these two engines are the same. Right?

the engine is basically a laguna v6 24v... polished and tweeked by twr.
the mk2 gearbox is known to be a bit stronger but the mk1 clutch is much stronger..

they have different inlet cams, different inlent manifolds and plenhams, thats about the only engine differences

the mk1 gearbox is out of a tractor, really noisy compared to the mk2

the gearboxes are generally rubbish and so are the clutches

Interesting stuff, thank you very much guys.
Well, if this is the case, what options do you have for any engine upgrade? Are there any cams, pulleys, throttle bodies, exhaust manifolds, etc upgrades? Anything really that does not require opening the engine deep inside!
What other options are there for the gearbox/clutch?

What about the internals of the engine (crankshaft, rods, pistons, bearing, etc)? What is the power max limit they are capable for?

Mike T on her's got his to 440hp or so with superchrager but he's spent a lot there no internal limit it depends how you go about tunning superchrager ROn fuel you run normall aspirated etc.

There quite a few bits for tunning but the prices are huge. For cams alone you need 4 so thats minimum of twice the price of a 172/182 ones. Throttle bodies you have 50% more and need to have a manifold made/bay one.

Gearbox can be fixed going to a suquenchail/strengthened unit. gearbox well there stronger ones but it sdepends what you want. paddle arn't easy to use.

i always chuckle at your spelling of sequential edde ;)

we're putting throttle bodies on my V6 at the moment

a lot of money needed

the throttle bodies in the picture are made for us by Jenvey Dynamics, but we own the rights to the manifolds

i can't find any data on the weights of the engine or gearbox

i would estimate that the gearbox is around 60kg on its own!
