V8 Baby!!! (Hi, Ginge)

Herr Flick

aka Herman Ze German
So I f**ked the Disco off as it was boring me and from the side it was not aesthetically pleasing. Oh and s**t on fuel.

Toyed between this and a Audi RS6 but the extra room/size did it for me.
I originally wanted a black one but then decided I wanted it to be as little 'un-gangster' as possible.

I got it silly cheap as it had no history but through the powers of the interweb/phone calls, I have managed to track it back til 2009 with full Land Rover service history and after that it was serviced at a LR specialist.
The previous owner was the director of DC Decaux who had it from 2009-present and I even spoke to him. Lol.

It's not in great condition on the inside (leather has scuffs etc) but it was cheap enough to leave me with a couple of grand to sort it out.

Currently (70 miles) I am averaging 13.1mpg but that's because i'm driving with a heavy foot atm.
Few plans to tidy it up/modernise it abit but am getting a major service done ASAP as I have no proof of what was done at the last service.

Only two pictures as I haven't had time to take it anywhere.

I know people think these are un-reliable but these 4.4 V8s are a lot more simplistic and mechanically, it has been well looked after and everything works perfectly.

What ya think?

Good work you paint bodging weirdo. Looks bloody lovely!

I love the V8's. My mate sold his diesel and bought a V8 and has noticed zero difference in fuel consumption. He's put gas on it now and it equates to about 25mpg around town.

I love it though, good effort!

Looks nice (and the photos look like they are down by Hardings bodyshop)

Yeh, stopped off at maccy d's on the way home as Leanne was getting all stroppy.

In my budget, it was a V8 or a diesel 2.7 which is way underpowered and only does about 21 avg where as this 'should' average 16-19mpg so hardly any difference in real world terms.

You said you have no proof of what was done at the last service? I'd be more concerned about finding out rather than getting a stamp!

Regardless, I do like these and you've certainly got the best colour.

Not a fan, sorry. The vogue just looks to big compared to the sport. Or it could just be your horrendous photo angles.
Lol, whats wrong with the photos?

The FFRR is massive compared to the sport. It's actually 10cm longer than the Disco.
I wanted a sport a few years ago but now i think they are just too blingy.

The 4.4 V8s are very simple to service as they have no cambelts etc. I spoke to LR earlier and they said the 'big service' is £450 whereas the big service on the Disco was just under a grand (at a specialist so more art LR).

Apparently the gearbox/diff oils very rarely get changed according to the schedule they use.

These are my favourite shape Range Rover, just the right amount of bling but not over the top.

Never have and never will see why people love these so much... Just big, expensive, unreliable barges imo.

Hope you have better luck than most though... Enjoy it if it's what you want!

I like it a lot.. I'd not mess with it at all else you'll just look like chav/wannabe etc. looks perfect and sensible just as is.

Not sure I'd of picked it over an RS6 though!

I've read on the interwebs that decats and a map make them sound like a proper V8 and improve economy.

Its sounds lovely (from the engine) but would love to get some sort of exhaust system.

I will get a vid up ASAP to show how loud it is as standard.

I wouldn't turn down one of these to just waft about in. But I'd never go for one of those over an RS6. Ever.
