Valver Oil Leak

  S2000
The valver I went to look at today has quite a bad oil leak and I just need some suggestions for where to check if I go and see it again.

The oil comes down the back of the engine somewhere as you can see it dried up coming down the back of the sump. It's spread fairly evenly across the width of the sump.

Basically I'm just looking for possible suggestions for where the leak could be coming from. I know there are a lot of possibilities but it would be good to have a few things to check.

Also, where is the oil filter on a 16v? I had a quick look for where it was incase that could be the cause but I couldn't see the filter.

Thanks.

cheers mate. If I go and see it again I'll try and get under the car to have a decent look at it. Only looked in the haynes now and realised where the sump plug is on a 16v, I suppose it's very possible it could be there.

I've already got a bit for it as it' the same on my RT. Wouldn't want to fix the leak with the seller there though - might push the price up without an oil leak ;)
