Valver Owners

previouse owner of my valver said hes owned 11 r5s... and not one of them could take the clio on and win, r5 has the edge initially, but from 60 the clio pisses all over it

when i first got mine my mate had a supposed 170bhp 5 running - pasted hime good and proper in all aspects to be honest so i doubt he had 170 horses - the clio was soooo much better in the corners i did all of the catching up from a bad start in the first two twisties!

never encountered a proper 5 though and I hope I dont!

Difficult to compare, as the majority of GTTs - or at least the ones that whose drivers will be up for a burn around town - are modded. And unlike a valver, you dont need to spend a lot of money to get a significant return.

My brother had a pretty quick GTT (150ish bhp but over 170lb/ft of torque)

Always beat me when mine once standard, but it would have beaten my valver even now (est 160bhp)

Having driven both, the acceleration on the 5ive was definately quicker but started to loose breath at about 120mph, where as the valver can do over 130mph easy.

Also, the 5 handled better and stopped quicker, probably due to his being lower/stiffer than mine, having a big brake kit on it and being a lot lighter.

I chased a 5 turbo a while back in my valver. Off the mark they are a little quicker but nothin to worry about. Up to about 100mph it was about the same but after that i realed him in slowly. It seemed to be standard but i couldnt say. Who knows whats under the bonnet now days.
