Definitely check the maf sensor too, because that's exactly what happens with a dead MAF / MAF pipe leaking.

What happens when you apply gas?

From when it was running i can remember when you applied gas it didnt want to rev at all/struggled or it just used to cut out. I have checked the piping from the MAF and it seems to be completely intact.

If the MAP sensor is dead it'll usually start and immediatly die.

Also they do not run MAF sensors. its a MAP sensor

MAF -Mass Air Flow sensor
MAP - Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor.

She Lives!

Fitted new fuel filter today, filled up the tank, flushed out inlet/throttlebody , fitted fully charged battery, and guess what, she started first time!

The air gushing noise has now gone but the engine sounds a bit tappety? anyones suggestions? I can tell its also still running rich so i will still have the new sensors and see if that stops that (fingers crossed) aye

All i can say now is thankyou all for helping me along this and im going to be posting updates!

as its not been run properly for a while it'll be tapy for about an hour. just go and give her a nice long motorway cruise and it should sort itself out.
