Just bought this off a mate going to go down route of dephaser pully,

What does everyone on here think?

Yeah I'd say so. If it is the dephaser, I believe the noise should stop or at least not increase the higher up the rev range you go. It's not tappets anyway.

Either dephaser or carbon cannister, I'd guess.

ok cheers gonna go with dephaser as it doesn't get any louder when revving, and lad i got it from mentioned cambelt, thanks for the help

Yeah. If it was tappets, the speed of the tapping would increase with the revs. Don't think it does with the dephaser so that's a good indicator.

Runs/sounds like a Diesel => Dephaser most likely shot.
