Vein's BMW

  Never above 25mpg
I'm seriously not going to call my new car that but this is what I'll be picking up tomorrow lunchtime!!

Saw it today, put a deposit down on it, only minor work needed and only 1 small bit of rust and all the electrics work!!

Tis a 320i SE with FSH and isnt shy considering the age!

Can't wait tbh :approve:

Will get some fresh pics with the 172 tomorrow!

Re: Ecco the Dolphin.

Me too :(

You'll miss the 172 mate ;)

This is effectively free motoring as it won't drop in value and I wont owe anything for it so I'm looking forward to my first bit of RWD action :rasp:

Yeah, rear M badge will be removed but I like the grayscale M badges so will replace the front one with one of those.

Will get some better pics when I get it home!

I don't usually like old buses but those Beemers are pretty sweet!

Re: Ecco the Dolphin.

OK, got it today!! Extremely happy with it!

It's already lowered which I didn't realise and has a scorpion twin backbox!

Dad drove and I followed in the 172 and tbh it's got a hefty bit of power.

Forgot to mention in first post that it;s only on 96k too :)

Re: Ecco the Dolphin.

OK, so it's not exactly Dolphin Grey so I've failed on the thread title but it is a grey of sorts...

First of all, thanks to 172Ben for changing the thread title :D

Next up! 12 days of ownership and I've changed a few things on the car!

Chrome kidneys
Standard handbrake lever
got rid of mtec pedals
changed seat badges to the correct way
fitted a Sony headunit
got some standard Pioneer grilles too but my current speakers wont allow them to fit so I'll be looking for a set of "flat" speakers to allow them to fit!!
Also got rid of the rear M badge.

And I've got a few more things planned so far but I'm going for the "period" look :D

engine pics? Whats it like to drive?

Will get a couple tomorrow!!

Yeah it's clean aside from that rust spot!!

Dunno what it's like to drive yet

Dad test drove it and drove it hoome but he would've told me to walk away if it'd been a bad drive so I'm just in anticipation to drive it but it does give me time to get things like this stuff sorted oot :)

M badges.....oofttt.. Not sure how much drifting you'll be doing...2.0l will be slow compared to the 172!

Looking good.

Go to an audio shop and get some decent component speakers.Direct replacements dont cost that much anymore...

Nice old school E30 mate. ok it maybe down on power compared to the clio but it will still have enough for some sideways action. I used to work for a BMW main dealer and these are near enough bomb proof. Though just to echo the words of previous post (M-Badges) lol. If you would like to know what the car came with standard out of the factory call you local BMW dealer with the last 7 digits of the chassis and they will be able to tell you (if your interested). also it will be able to tell you the colour for definate just to solve any confusion on the colour ;)

Cracking car. Enjoy ;)

Colourcode sticker should be on the OSF suspension turret from memory but as i said that does look like Diamondschwartz unless the photo's are deceiving

Lovely little motor that. I had an e21 318 back in the day, and that could kick the back out in the wet, so this should no bother. Steering is sweet and they're so well balanced.

Came really close to buying a 320i a while back, but just couldn't find an un-modified one for love nor money. I'm after another e21 or better still a 2002.

Thanks for all the kind words people!! Think I'll remove the other M badge today... Getting alot of scrutiny for it on the E30 forums :p

Got a small splitter for it today so will put that on soon.

If anyone can offer some advice for getting this bloody richbrook knob off though, the collar is stuck on it tight!!

Yeah it won't be as fast as the 172 but I can't imagine it'll be slow so I'll still enjoy it hopefully :)

looking into ideas for a second car, had considered bmw estates but not really one of these, may do now, a diesel version would be perfect. especially if its as clean as that
