Very strange goings on

  Black 172
Past few months since its been cold, i have noticed when i start my car my hazard lights come on for about two/three flashes then go off :S i have no idea why it does this. It seems to do it when its cold mostly, do you think this could be a problem with the alarm or immobiliser ? never heard of this problem before ?

Also tonight ( not sure if this was my fault though) i parked my car up and i always put a disc lock on where ever i am parked ( i bought it ages ago so might aswell use it). Looked outside ( being nosey) and my hazard lights were flashing. Thought it was my alarm, although there was no noise ( car is parked right outside my house) pressed the alarm thinking it would stop the lights didnt work. So i have come to the conclusion that i must have knocked the hazard light switch when i was putting my disc lock on cos i had to push the switch in to stop the lights? Cant be the alarm if the button had popped out.

the switches are really common so whack one of them in first
other than that possibly sticking relay

it depends it would normally happen after being operated,, having said that im not too familar with the alarm setup some of these 172's have (about all i can tell you about them is how well it bounces in the bottom of the skip) although if the hazards are wired through it its a possibility as it would power up with ignition and they are quite suceptable to water damage.
if possible get it to a point the hazards are going permanantly (ie the fault) and pull the alarm fuse out
