very vert poor idle!!!!!

Can someone please help!! lol
I sometime get poor idle ie: when i start the car and let it tick over the revs drop so low it almost cuts out then revs its self back up again the it done it again and again and again ...........
This happens mostly after i have washed the car or has been heavy rain ive had a look and there seems do be no water in obvious places when i open the bonnet after washing it.
Also im getting this crazy kind of power loss when driving left round corners and have no idea what this can be!

Sounds like the coil pack mate.

realy? great! i know nothing at all about coil packs lol is it a hard job and is it expencive?
Would this also have somthing to do with the power loss turning left?(sounds nuts to me)

when i had a problem like this it turned out to be the idle controle valve... just needed a clean out....

is that a very very poor idle, or a very green poor idle :rasp:

Idle control valve needs a clean.

i ve got the same problem, its the lambda sensor that thells the ecu what possition the throttle is in, for example mine ticks over at 2000rpm and when i floor it (100% open) the fooked sensor is telling the ecu the throttle is only 80% open, so i m loosing out on 20% extra on the throttle, its going to cost me arround the 150 mark with a rolling road done aswell, hope to get around 170bhp (with head and cam work)

ok thanx guys so eddie you dont think its the coil pack then?
I dont understand how turning left can bring this "juddering" which feels like its missfireing.
Is this normal i dont get how turning even at low speeds could affect anything like this:S

If it were coils you'd notice the problem im more of the rev range. Cleaning the idle control valve fixes most problems so that first to do and cheap.

ok cool ill get on that tommorow i hope its an easy job lol.
What do you think on the turning bit tho? any ideas because it only does it when turning left.
Also any ideas about whenever i wash my car it does that thing i said where it nearly stalls then revs back up on idle. after i drive it for half an hour or so it clears up. What could be getting wet?
