Vibration from the front end and steering wheel

  BG 182
I noticed this as soon as I bought the car in March but thought it was one of the usual Clio niggles. I'll try and explain as best I can.

Imagine your setting off in 1st and your sort of on the way to the stalling point but comfortably getting going, the steering wheel and the front end of the car seem to vibrate a lot. I know every car does this but I've owned 3 cars before this, 2 of them non-sport clios and they were never this bad.

Any ideas anyone? I'm thinking engine mounts possibly

Strange problem as the mounts wouldnt normally affect the steering, when it happens does the gear stick move with it?

Don't think it does. I know the Clios do have very 'loose' gear sticks but honestly its very weird when it does happen, very confused

Sounds like mounts to me/clio niggle (or more PC - 'characteristic'!). You got uprated ones?

I'm no mechanic but I think I know what you mean been the vibrations and mine became more noticeable when I polybushed the dogbone. The sports clios will have much harder mounts than the non sports.

Yeah you're probably right mate, sounds about right anyway. I suppose if they are stiffer mounts, means less movement, more likely to vibrate the car.

Thanks a lot mate
