violent brakes

any suggestions as to why my 172 front brakes are so harsh at low speeds ,new pads and discs have been fitted 1 week ago by garage unknown what make was used they also sqeek when being used ,so will be looking to use copper grease on back of pads on weekend also will find out what make pads were used

Did they bleed them too. When i first got im a newish clio that had recently had the brakes done i thought they were very sharp

Well the clio has no weight!!! at low speeds there aint alot for the brakes to stop.... i sometimes headbut the windscreen while in traffic. I do have brembo discs, pagid blue pads and braded lines, but at that speed and braking pressure that wouldnt cause it..... just something ure gonna have to get used to mate. Stock brakes are quite good on the clio, althouhg i found they tended to fade a bit when i was really having fun.

Probably rubbish non gen pads. ive never noticed a problem with mine and its always had gen pads in it.
