viper kit

[Nice Try Good Bye!!]

A few weeks ago a couple of poeple fitted Viper kits to 172s, so spill the beans are they any good, any pictures of air box and pipe work to cold air. Like most of us I have a intake project in the pipeline but i need to have a look under the front of the car to see about running duct work and would like to see pictures of a fitted viper kit

I have had a Viper kit on order for about 5 weeks now thru Carnoisseur in Southend. Chris there has had problems with the Pipercross distributor, who has had problems with getting the Viper kits from the factory.

He told me last week it would be about 10 days until I would get the kit. Then I will fit it and post pics. I have been looking under the bonnet and i am struggling to see where the cold air feed pipe is going to go !! Hope i dont have to remove a fog light !

Ive also had a Viper kit on order from POTN since 15 Apr and still no news...

Plus Im ordering from overseas, naturally Im worried.

ak_uk has a Hillpower Induction kit which has the duct work through to the offside fog light which has had to be taken out. Saw it at the RR Day, it looks good, and sounds good too. Would look better with the lower grill meshed and the fog light opening meshed too.

I am a bit concerned in removing a fog light for the air pipe. Surely that means that in wet weather you will get a lot of water up the pipe, through the induction kit and in the engine ?? This cant be good.

I will do my damnedest to get the pipe under the bonnet i think !

JJ, its not a Viper, its HPs own design, using a RamAir IK and HP custom heatshielding and twin air intakes....I have piccies but dont have any way of getting them on here........elp!

Good news - Chris from Carnoisseur in Southend called me earlier to say he has my Viper kit and will send it to me Monday. Cant wait.

I called Performance City earlier this week and spoke to Phil, he said hell check up on my order for me and email me but still no reply.

Could any kind soul in this forum (living near Northhampton) check with Performance City on my order?? Calling UK from Singapore does cost a bomb....
