Warning lights and little power

  Albi 197
Hi, Got a bit of a problem here. I was driving along when two warning lights illuminated and the car seemed to lose most of it's power, One light is an orange engine shape, and the other is an orange heart monitor (pic attached below)

Rev limiter seems to be at about 3k rpm and it can barely achieve 50mph.

Car is a 2007 Clio Campus Sport 1.2 16v.

Not really sure what the cause is. Any help welcome :)

Thanks in advance!

Crap pic, but I was driving :p

I'm in exactly the same boat! When you turn off the car and turn it back on does the electrical fault light (heart monitor) go off? And all power comes back untill it comes back on?

I have a similar problem to this, When the light is flashing my car is very sluggish and slow, But when the light is constantly on the car runs fine. Looking to get this fixed but no garages in my area have diagnostic equipment i'll reply if I find a fix.

My light never flashed, just came on constant.

Yeah same, mine doesn't flash, it's constant. I took it to a Renault specialist and they 'claimed' it was to do with the throttle body but I don't wana start changing things and the problem still be there!

I had my throttle body off a couple of months back to clean it, i'll have a look tomorrow and give it another clean.

Really needs a diagnostic session boys as it could be many things; some pricey, some not but guessing isn't the most effective way to fix it.

Had diagnostics done on mine and came up with df002 throttle potentiometer circuit track 1 and 2 and then it went on to say incoherence between throttle track1 and track 2! Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Yeah I checked that out, everything's connected. Im gona change the throttle pedal and see if it keeps coming up

There's normally more to this game than unplugging something, taking a look and then plugging it back in again i'm afraid.

The fault could be the pedal setup, the TB or the wiring inbetween and if the latter is the case you need to know where each wire goes, check it physically and then make sure each wire is doing what its supposed to do; power, earth, signals, etc.

Guessing and simply replacing parts can sometimes see you get lucky but really, you would be better off getting the car properly diagnosed and going from there.

Went for a drive early this morning, The car seems to run fine now, rev limiter back where it should be, Only the engine light remains. I'll have to read the codes when I get home. I'll let you know what I find out :)

Thought id better update you all, on my drive home from Millom, the car started juddering and the engine light was flashing, but I was able to get home, plugged my code reader in and I had misfire on cylinder 4, after some research I found that this was probably caused by the coil pack, so I replaced this along with all the spark plugs. But the problem is still there only worse. The car is actually barely drivable now, no idea what else to do... :(

Ok, car has been to Renault who concluded that it was in fact the coil pack, got this changed along with some genuine Renault spark plugs and car runs as it should. Not bad for £88 :)
