Warning signs of Cat being on its way out??

  Black Ph2 172
Morning all,

Over the last week or so I have noticed a weird rattling come from (I think) the front part of my car. It's definately not the cat-back as this is not even a year old and a K-tec one so good quality, think it might be the car but not sure.

The rattling is not that noticable from inside the car and appears worse when starting from cold.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Many thanks,

Andy

Mine starts meowing when she wants to go out.

Exhaust though, it would smell eggy. Smell your exhaust.

There doesn't seem to be any eggy smells so maybe it's not the cat...how easy a job is it to sort the heat shield (apologies if this a dumb Q but I'm useless at car maintenance)

Not hard at all, get under your car (when its cold) and push on the heatshield with your hand and see if there is a lot of movement or see if it is resting on the exhaust, if it is fixing it you can either take the heatshield off or renault use some weird screw clip things to hold them on, just go down to your local scrappy and you can take a load off on a clio there and have a few spare
