Warranty or not warranty

  RenaultSport clio 182 mk2
Hi all
Have had a 182 (2004-Never had a Renault before) for 2 months now and it has a few niggles, went to the dealer (Harrogate-Reg Vardy) and they said none of it is covered under the warranty as the defects are trim or wear and tear. The problems are as follows

1) Steering wheel is coming apart at the back where the 'smooth' grip is just above the centre of the wheel.
2) Going the down the A1, the whole rubber strip that goes across the top of the windscreen flew off!!!
3)The brakes squeak badly and reading elsewhere on here suggests it could be caliper sliders

Now before I start shouting at them does anyone have a more in depth knowledge of the warranty and how good they are with good will becasue wear and tear is fine but if mechanical failure is the cause (as with the sliders)

I intend to point out that having only had the car 2 months I expect to pay bugger all but any extra info would be a real help.

1) go kick up a fuss and loudly state that they are con artists in front of other customers.
2) same again
3) this is wear and tear and could be even just the dust, a blast from the air line will sort it in some cases.

personally I woudl also have some witty remarks and comebacks to make them feel suitably small.

Some dealers are excellent and some are awful. That's unfortunately the short of it.

Your best course of action is to call Renault UK customer services and politely but firmly explain that the car is less than two years old and you want the work to be carried out under warranty. All being well they will speak to the dealer and arrange for the car to be booked in.

(The only grey area is the thumb grips but if it was me I'd be persistant and demand they replace the wheel)

Cheers
Will give Renault a ring and force the issue and go back to the dealerprepared with some suitably smart comments!

Stearing wheels are common fault done under warently.
Never heard of the rubber strip coming off though might be warently.
Brakes should be covered sounds like a bit of cleaning etc will sort them.
