warranty with wheels :-s

  "Navy" N17 TWO

Anybody had any trouble with warranty after puting 17s on?

Was going to get my new rims today but thought id ask on here and maybe Reno first. Dont want to screw the warranty.

Will Reno still service the car if I change things ? (alloys/new bonnet)

Advice is everything now - im dying to get my wheels :devilish:

i would say it all depends on ya dealer. if anything goes wrong with the car they could turn round and say that the wheels was the cause of the problems. i.e broken half shatfs or burnt out clutch???? but you could just put ya old wheels back on if their was a problem.

Shouldnt f up your warenty cause the tires aint included on it, and ive never heard of anyones alloys having to be repaired (Apart from curbing).

I spoke to a guy at my dealership and he said i wouldnt have a problem putting wheels on, only problem is lowering it or whatever playing with the suspensions means thats taken off the warrenty.

nope your main problem will be that if an engine part fails they could blame it on the extra wheel size. larger wheels create loads more strain on your engine parts so they could blame the new larger alloys.

To be honest so long as there not absolutly terriable as dealerships they will cover and warently work.

You could argue the extra diameter and weight causes problem but since you could take the wheel of and swop them and go to another garge and theyd do it I woudnt have thought one garge who saw the wheel would try and get out of work. It gets them a bad reputation plus they dont care so long as Renault pay up what work they have to do.

The overall diamater with 185/55/15s and 205/40/17s isnt a big difference. Theyd be more worried about lowering which could cause many more problems. However, my dealership didnt care about either.

i put 16"s on my car and the dealer refused to replace the engine mounts under warranty because of the extra stress the wheels put on the engine.
