Washer Jets.

My gf has mk2 172 and last week the washer jet on the drivers side stoppped working.

It hasnt completly stopped working it just dribbles out yet the passenger side works fine.

I have checked the pipes and there is no splits, Have also checked for blockages but can not see any and nozzles are clear.

Has any ones had this issue dont want to take back to stealer if i can resolve the problem.

This time of the year frost attacks the internal of the jet causing them to break are forcing the ball jet out of the top of the washer - new ones are £6.32 each part number 7701207152 o/s.........7701207168 n/s

Cheers j3ned.

I have just tried it again a this time one side squirted of the two jets but then stopped?

So you deffo think that replacing internal jet should fix it?

i have this problem every winter,my tip would be to take out the washer jet and get one of the push down soap applicators, put the nozzle of the applicator against the jet and pump in it that will clear it out, like u i tried everything pins, ear-rings,air lines the lot this and some warm water did the trick

Need to know this too :(

Half of one my jets (ie, one nozzle) has stopped working. Wouldn't be all that bad, if it wasn't the one nearest the drivers side :p

heres what i did when mines stopped working, get a mate to put their thumb over the washer that is working and then you pull the stalk to clean the window as normal, the resulting force blasted out the one which wasnt and hence both washers are now working fine

the washer jets are held on by a bolt from the inside of the bumper, I took my bumper off to get at it properly, dont know whether you could get at it any other way though??
Wonder if you could get at it by removing the arch liner instead of the whole bumper?

Right i have tried what Tick said but it hasnt helped it just made the other side jet over the car.

I have now got a same situation that "the cookie has" one of the two nozzles is working but not the other.

The doc cheers for your advice but its the windscreen ones thats the problem not the headlight jets.

i presumed from the start of the thread you were reffering to the headlight jets.

cant understand it then if they are all clear?

Liam 182, No the headlight jets are working fine, sorry abou the confusion.

It is really strange why one of the two nozzles work and the other just dripples washer fluid out. any other ideas, before i take back to the stealer.
