Exact same problem here mate! Can't understand it Please let me know how you get on with a solution!I keep wasting a lot of wheel bearings, both original ones and the ones sold by k-tec. Most of the faliures caused by the drive shaft nut getting loose. Clean drive shaft, correct torque and new nut every time. Anyone have a solution?

Yes I've been thinking the same and at least that way it should stop the nut from coming off totally! It's an odd oneI do consider drilling a hole through the threads of the driveshaft allowing me to use a locking pin.
Out of interest, how much is a front drivers-side wheel bearing these days?

Are you re-using the driveshaft nut? If so you should consider replacing it as they are nylocks and I bet the nylon band is non-existant

Using non genuine nuts without a flange built in, or a separate washer?
Nope, genuine bearing and new nut as it says in my first post.
says new, doesn't mean it's the right one. There's a lot of incorrect nuts supplied with wheelbearings
I take it youve had the same kind of problem then?
