ok this site is still in progress at the mo, so few bits arent right.

im not talking about code or owt like that, but if this was for you would you be happy with the layout, look etc?

please note the logo is not something I have done, its the original one of the company the site is for. I did design a 'revised and modern' version but they didnt want it.

Im not gonna link direct as i dont want inbound links from here in the stats!

couldn't see the original site - looks fine to me (few glitches allowed as its wip) except i don't like the way the vertical bar sits over the horizontal one - maybe if the black extended all the way to the left or the border colour around the black bit and picture thingy was more prominent?

I've been working on this for ages now. I basicaly went well out of my way to add lots of features to make things easier and better for them as a company, and when I eventualy showed them they ripped it to bits saying they didnt like pretty much everything, and they didnt want all these bits id done fo them

proper kick in the balls!

I've now modified loads, changed the logo, changed all the website colours, removed some excellent features i had added (like online booking form instead of a download of a basic word doc)

I've waited weeks for replies to emails, and months for decent pics, and its just been a complete nightmare and messed up all my time schedule I planned to work on this site.

Now they are mad at me cos its not finished yet! I told them I will spend my week off work working on it, and asked a number of questions regarding if they liked the revised look, and 1 week later I get a blunt reply saying they expect it done by Friday with no answer to my questions i have been waiting all week for. arrrgh!

I needed to get that off my chest. I cant understand why they dont seem to ever be happy with it, especialy when you compare to their old site!!!

Its very nice mate. Really into the clean white space sites at the moment, so like it a lot.

De Gal - yep they do! We have so many customers who still refuse to get their horriffic sites updated.

People dont understand what goes into webdesign and the code involved and the illustration etc, they probaly think we do it in Paint!

Feel sorry for you though ad, having put lots of time and effort in it to be told its s**t.

I hate it when clients expect a £30000 website for a couple of grand! To avoid the "we dont like this bit" senario i always state in the contract that i will do 3 mock designs, which are all non-functional. The client picks one and then we tweek it.

yeh i normaly do that. i have changed this a good few times now.

only prob is i was so keen to get stuck into it I forgot to send them the bloody contract out when i first did the deal. (kicks self)

Have you asked them what they dont like, i think you need to get some firm answers otherwise youll be forever changing it.

Personally i dont see what they are moaning about. The site is clean modern adn easy to use.

Im doing it for a good price too which makes it even worse!

Everyone thinks estate agents are w*****s (well i suppose we are...) but investors like these who do the estate agency side themselves are even bigger w*****s!

The new site looks great, i'd be happy with that if it was the site we had for work!
