Weight of 6 point roll cage

Not sure if anyone will know but I'm trying to put as little weight bak in the car as possible.

I've decided to do things properly and go for a 6 point weld in cage.

Does anyone know the weight of an omp cage or oreca race cage?

I would guess around 50kg or so,my last cage weighed around 50kg plus welds but it was pretty comprehensive so probably a similar amount of material.

Actually what material are the cage you are after made from,cds/t45 etc? Quite a diference in weight between them.Im too idle to look it up but I seem to remember certain omp cage are some sort of chromoly which there is a bit of debate about how its best to weld so might be worth looking into.

The OMP one is about 35kg

Custom Cages one is about 40kg, But thats CDS. T45 is about 20% lighter.

Yes T45 is more expensive yet lighter as it's stronger so can have thinner walls

CDS means cold drawn seamless.
T45 is seamless too, all FIA/MSA approved rollcages should be one or the other.
