Weight of a 172 cup Gearbox????

Without fluids.
No one asked for the Weight of the fluids.:sleepy:
i know this.... i too can read. my point was as fluids are an integral part of a gearbox you wold assume when asking for the wight of a gearbox, you would want to know what a gearbox with fluids would weigh.
Where as if you were actually weighing a gearbox i.e out of a car, chances are it wouldnt have fluid in....

So... something to consider if you want a more accurate weight figure.

which i expect is why people are quoting figures between 33 - 38kg.........

not really, as when they are out of the car they are inherently empty of oil...

if someone asked for the weight of an engine, I would assume WITHOUT fluids..

key word being ...

with or without mount :) lol

No mount no fluid .

It has some black oily residue on the outside you might like to take into account.

Can tell you that the one I built up and am now running is 4kg heavier.

Quaife diff !
