Weight of seats 172 vs 172 cup

Hi all. Does anyone know the difference in weight between 172 half leathers and 172 cup cloth seats?

There's no airbags in cup seats either. I've been given a pair of half leathers and they must weigh about 25kg each!

I have no idea about the cup seats as they are still in the car, I just don't want to be adding alot more weight for the sake of a bit of a leather. But if it's only a couple of Kgs then ill stick them in

The Cup seats are pretty light compared to the 172 ones. IMO, the Cup ones are more supportive too.

Cup seats are around 18.5 kg each

Cup back bench (lower and upper) is 14kg (for reference)

Yeah Gary the cup seats are actually quite comfy, I don't think I'll bother fitting the 172 seats.

IIRC, the Cup seats have deeper bolsters which makes them more supportive.

They smell crap? Maybe you should clean them because mine don't smell haha.

I find them quite comfy tbh and I'd say it's more than just a couple of kgs difference tbh so I'm not going to bother with them.

I prefer the cup ones. They're 18ish kg whereas the the 172/182 are 22kg passenger side and 24kg driver side.

Aren't dynamique, ph1, cup, 182 and v6 (despite not reclining) seats all the same bar difference covers?

Cup doesn't have airbags or true driver side lumbar support adjustment.

The bolsters feel bigger too but that might just be because they're less slippery than leather.

The dynamique might well be the same.

Ph1 and Ph2 have different wiring plugs.

The dynamique seats have airbags so are basically the same as half leather but cloth instead.

I think the old 1.8 16v and Williams seats were the best for comfort and support.

Most of the weight in standard seats will be the extensive amount of metal in the frames, subframes and tilt mechanism. Also, assuming the clios have seat belt tensioners, they will be in any model. If you want to make weight loss a priority, then go for aftermarket buckets. If its not that then go for which ever looks nicest, feels best, cost less and/or is easiest!

Completely agree, I took my rear seats out the other week, as well.

More supportive than the normal 172 half leather ones. Shame they look so s**t!

Buckets may be an option in the future but I was only really wanting to know the difference to see how much weight I'd be adding to the car by swapping the seats.
