I have all the weights of the glass vs polycarb windows written down at home. I'll dig them out and post them up.

I can also weigh my standard bonnet with the internal strengthening removed if your interested? I took a good few kilos out by doing that. Sure, it flaps around a bit, but it's withstood speeds of over 140mph and not distorted.

Can't help with pre weights but for carbon doors your looking at 2700g a piece, 2500g for bonnet and 3000g for boot lid. All 4 panels for about £1250 at the current exchange rate! Everyone thinks I'm nuts but I think thats good value :)

Rear qtr glass: 3.5kg each.
Rear heated screen: 7.5kg.

Front polycarb: 2kg each.
Rear qtr polycarb: 1.5kg each.
Rear screen polycarb: 3kg.

If your interested in the de-skinned bonnet weight let ms know.

You can cut plenty out of the internal skin of the door, but that combined with the window winder mech will save you around 3-4kg's off the standard doors. You ideally want to remove the side impact protection bars for maximum weight saving. That's a job I've got left to do on mine.

If you are who I think you are, your bonnet is ridiculously cool!

The weight of my bonnet with all the inner skin removed is 5.2kg. I weighed the bonnet hinges and the guts I'd removed and seem to remember it being around the 4-5kg region.
I would therefore estimate a standard bonnet to be in the region of 8-9kg mate.

Cheapest way to improve performance, getting rid of weight?

You should be able to save around 96 kg with carbon pannels over the standard unchoped units!

Say your car is 190 bhp and 950 kg now
190 / 0.95= 200 bhp per ton

- the 96kg weight saving gained from the doors = 854
190 / 0.854= 222 per ton

Set of throttle bodys and cams= 210bhp

210/ 0.95= 221bhp per ton

My calculations last year were I could save 60kg's from what I have got as some of mine is already chopped! Still for a lardy car like mine would be good but will have to see if I can justify the cost. I don't think it's an issue for me until I maximise everything else on the car

NorthloopCup - bit of an old thread to dig up, is there any chance you could post a pic of how you modified/ de skinned your bonnet, I am thinking of having a go at mine and would be interested to see what you did with yours.
