i guess the moral of this storey is dont disconnect things that you dont know about......
i did indeed find the sensor, which i thought must be for the alarm and disconnected it, the buzzing stopped, i thought great, i fixed it. a few weeks l;ater i noticed that my air con wasnt working properly, it was not changiong the temp when i wanted to adjust it, i had to swicth off the engin and then switch it back on for the temp to adjust, i took my car to an auto electricain, who said to replace the computer and charged me 40 quid to inform me of this, i then went to reno who wanted something like 160 or 260 for the unit, the local breakers had one for 60 quid so i bought that one, still didnt work, took it back to the electricain but still no joy. he suggested that i leave the car with him at 30 an hour and he'll find the problem.
just read a post above, went to my car and connected the device, i thought i had chucked it, and the air con now works fine, might need a charge, but the air is cool and the temp controll works fine!
