Weird Smell

Well got a rather werid smell of ...well cant rele explain it...like burning rubber but not quite...seems to be coming from under the bonnet from what i can guess...as cant smell it from the exhaust atall..

any1 anyideas???

Get a load test done sounds like your alternator is on its way out, mine melted and have read on here of some catching fire!

leak in cooling system? could be hot anti freeze as that can smell rank and being an older car could have developed a leak.

Iv got a mk1 clio and apparently its my CAT, smells really horrible, kinda eggy! Only happens after prolonged periods of rallying though!
