Weirdest thing ever!

Has anyone ever heard this before!

clio 182, removed the engine cover, placed bolts back into holes and nipped them up, just so they didn't get lost.

The car ran fine for 2 weeks, then one day (hot) it was like the throttle had a mind of its own, and revved on its own.

What had happened is where the bolts had been put back in had pushed the inlet manifold away from the block of the engine breaking the seal, then the car was not able to control the air that was entering the engine.

Do u recon the guy who told me this was lieing?

well the theory of the manifold not sealing causing the problem is sound, but i'm not sure those bolts being put in could cause it

Erm.... did you put the long bolts in the back & the short ones in the front lol, on a serious note if you have done it wrong it will force the lower inlet away from the upper
