Well changing wheels was a success

went to put on my new turinis this morning and i couldnt losen the nuts. Got a spider with one me on one side and my dad the other nothing, then put my full weight on it and nothing still. So anoying, going to have to pop it to the local garage this week to get them to loosen the nuts, as they've just been tighten to tight to get off by hand!!

any suggestions on how to get them off by hand? as id likle to get them on(turinis)

Go to motor world/halfords, buy a six sided single hex 19MM socket, and a 24" breaker bar! If they wont come of then they are stupidly tight!

24 inch breaker bar should easily loosen them off.....i've used impact guns on stupidly toight nuts and they haven't done a thing.

You need a longer wrench.

  Audi Q7, Avalanche
makesure you copper grease them when popping them back in to help prevent any seizing... breaker bar will work, or get your socket set on it and pop a pole over it to make it longer... if you have one

Aye, long breaker bar and lots of short sharp hits... creates vibrations that'll loosen them.

The irony is most nuts get overtightened by a impact gun but most impact guns struggle to undo them again!

Go figure

renault decided it would be good to put my locking wheel nuts back on with an impact gun at the 36k service, i came to take them off....no chance, even another impact gun couldn't get them off..............had to smash the locking wheel nuts off and get them drilled out............

this was the same time that they damaged my newly refurbished wheels by being careless with the gun, scratching the powdercoat off where the nuts go in! jokers!

gave the old man a call he came over with his longer socket set and had the nuts off no trouble. Stupid length of the one in the boot!

will get some pics up later.
