Once upon time 4 year ago I was one of those kids who dreamed about a Clio 182 now I can have one since my Insurance is now only 500quid for one.

I'm a mechanic by trade and I'm just after some advice on what to look for in these cars. I know the common things such as Dephaser rattle etc I'm morally after some more info on these fun cars.

Service history is the main one, if it has FSH then you're probably in good standing tbh.

As above make sure it has been serviced as it should be with the main one being the cambelt change done on time/correctly by someone who has the correct timing tools for the job

Rest should be easy for you if you're a mechanic, general consumables aren't expensive on these cars , buyers guide here:

Yeah, I've done a timing belt and dephaser on one before. Not the nicest of jobs haha. Gunna give it a few months before I get one now, since the weather isn't looking to good up north. May even splash out and get a trophy.. Not sure yet.
