I've heard of a few of the vee owners take theirs out for a blast minus the engine covers, so as I had a few things to check in there, I thought i'd do it too.
I've read a lot of people saying that 'they sound mint' without the engine covers on.
Hmmm, round town at 30 mph the drone from the engine is utterly boring. Taking the car to 4000 rpm sounded like it was going at about 14,000 rpm, but then the engine was uncovered & about a foot from my ears
On an A road while opening it up, it sounded mental, the induction suck noise is great (it's standard too) I have an green element to fit & have been told that sound even better with one of those fitted (no gains, but a nice noise)
It's quite good to hear all of the clicks & noises the engine makes, changing gear sounded pretty rubbish though (very metally)
I was expecting it to be really hot in the car too, when I was driving it it wasn't noticeably hot at all, but when I got out of it & returned a bit later, omg !! It was like a tropical heatwave in there !
To sum up, driving at a constant speed & rpm is monotonous, put opening it up is great :approve:
