what and wheres the acoustic valve?

i keep seeing "acoustic valve" popping up in forums,could somebody explain what it is,thanks.

Its a valve to make the air induction noises meet eu specifications due to plastic piping being used.

It should only really affect the noise levels of the car slightly and performance even less so.

If you want to fit a larger bore air feed you need to remove this.

It's down behind the near side wheel, under the headlight area.

It's for EU directive on noise pollution. Removing it should give you a little more induction noise but could reduce low-down torque.
