What anti-virus?

What would you suggest?

My dad was asking me as one of his friends needs some new anti-virus software. I knwo there used to be AVG as a decent free option but from what I understand you now have to pay for that. Are there any more decent free ones about?

If there aren't any decent free ones any suggestions of reasonably priced ones would be much appreciated.

AVG still do a free version it's 7.5 now.

If you have to use an anti virus, you might aswell use the best..

I wasn't having a pop at you mate but there's a "which av is the best" thread started every few days.

I'd go with NOD32 (Eset) if you want the best available or AVG if you want something free.

Probably just go with AVG as its just for my dads mate who doesn't really use the net much but wants some sort of AV.
