what best way to change the brake fluid ?

  Ultra 197 ex 172 Cup
Hi Guys,

Whats the best way to change the brake fluid, do 1 wheel at a time, like bleeding ? or do you have to drain all the fluid out each brake, then fill up n bleed ? :S

  Lionel Richie
just bleed it through and try and take approx 250ml out of each nipple give or take is the easiest way

thanks fred, was looking on your website, for the fluid, and your delivery is quite pricey ? delivery is more than the fluid !!!, LOL, so will see what halfrauds or Cafco i mean motor parts direct sell. was looking in to this dot 5.1 thing, is that any better ? So basically i am taking my car back for the VOSA examiner to look at it about my MOT failure for the brakes, and speakign to him on the phone he still told me that it should be 50% rear, mine was 47% so anyways done 72k miles now so need to bleed them anyways, so if i be sneaky and put new fluid in, i am sure that will up the rear braking efficiency ? so thats my sneaky plan to make that MOT place get screwed.

Dot 4 is fine, people think because Dot 5.1 is a higher number that = better it's not just different (silicone based IIRC) Porsches run Dot 4 and BMW M Powers run Dot 4 (Castrol Response in case you want to know what type) so It'll be fine in a cup.
