what big power mods

I 100% agree.
The best single mod, abiet expensive, is to just get bodies. Bolt on, huge torque and power. Nevermind the suspension, its spot on for a road car which you can throw around without worrying about any snappyness you get with lower and stiffer suspension.
My perfect road clio would be just that....stock car on bodies....maybe some brakes if you use them alot.
I was always under the impression that ITBs on there own didnt make good gains.

the one you saw was for a duratec iirc... but stands to reason a Renault specialist will develop a kit for a Renault as well... falls under 'common sense'
okay, you made a thread over a year ago about these throttle boddies you have designed, so come on, lets see some pics and figures for these bad boys. I'll tell you now that if they are that good I have a rather substantial amount of cash lying around spare and even though I'd never bring another car to you I can admit when something is s**t hot and if I'd be getting a better product would happily hand the money over.
Give me some details and you may be surprised, but I'll only deal face to face and play with cash and want a receipt and some form of guarantee/warranty on any mechanical parts likely to fail and IF it makes less power/torque on my local RR I'd also want a full money back guarantee. If they make within 5bhp/5lbs of what my current setup made for example, as I realise different days different results, but if your confident they will then cash is waiting.
I've looked at forced induction options (turbo/charger) and while cost is pretty much the same, but power is increased (a lot) I'm not really that bothered, I want something reliable I can use everyday as Rovers and normal cars in general f**king suck... so I'm going back to one car that does everything I currently demand from a car.

I dont think mark ever said GDI copied my brackets, as nobody has seen my brackets........so that is quite impossible.
And i'm sorry to say it, as much as i can respect you as a decent and nice bloke, i wont be shooting myself in the foot.
We have had the bodies for a good while now, and its upto my discretion as to when I feel like releasing the product. I do not owe it to anybody, nobody else is involved with the developments and costs. And if you must know, I am waiting for the first set manufacture of several other engine applications before anything really goes forward for the general public.
But for you i might just stick up a small preview selection of pics.

but as others have said it looks liek a few of the tuners have got new bits coming out in the nearish future so will be interesting to see what comes of that.

Why not just remap the standard ecu? The result will be the same.

Personal preference i suppose, although I am under the impression that the omex is more controlable if other mods are added!

I'd go with ITB's, 182 manifold and a decent exhaust/de-cat. I'd do the fitting myself aswell and get it towed to a company of your choice for the ECU and mapping. Bolting on a set of ITB's is hardl rocket science after all!!
I've gone for VEMS management with wideband control and it's worked out cheaper than OMEX even with the wideband. I'm using Angelworks (BenR) but GDI will be able to offer a similar spec using OMEX.....

But
It doesnt give you power gains over a standard ecu remap on stock with mild cams. On a ph1 that already has cable throttle I dont see any benefit short term until you stick some ITBs on there when you will need to remap the OMEX again anyway.
Wiring the OMEX in is a big step to take because you have to cut the standard loom and you are at the no turning back stage as the saleabilty of your car becomes less.
A strange route to take without a cable throttle conversion included IMO.

This is a difficult one the stock ECU jsut liake a phase 2 could be mapped but for the effort stand alone is easier.

Cool was just thinking as it has the cable throttle in the first place it might be cheaper and/or less hassle than running standalone.
Even if it cost the same as a 3rd party ecu to get the mapping sorted are there major benefits from using something like Omex over standard to do the same job?
It's one of the things that puts me off, although saying that I don't know how intrusive having something like Omex is to the car, i.e. is it easily removed?
Omex is easy enohgh to remove if fitted correctly and well.
Forget it though go with stand aone for the hastle IMO only worth it otherwsie to be very unique. Stand alone ecpensive ECU;'s are easier for tunners to fix as they usualy have there preferecne and know the suppier and how exactly t work them remped stock ECU you only can go to a few places in the UK at all to get them to do it even then might be limited to one specilaist if they give up or sell up your stuck.
Omex is great has loads of potential etc for other bits and you do get to a point where its the best option realy.
Edde is correct here, returning the car to std is a simple procedure. we often remove aftermarket ECU's and the customer then has them fitted to their new car.
one of the reasons its easier to use an aftermarket ecu is that its not constrained to using a MAP sensor to calculate engine load, i.e you can use throttle possition rather than MAP to control the fueling etc.. the std Renault ECU uses MAP to read manifold pressure... on ITB's you dont tend to use MAP.
