There are many different pads and to be honest, it is purely down to personal preference.
I used the Sonus SFX pads for years, found them to be superb and last a long time.
However, recently I changed to Lakeland County pads. These cut much quick with the Menz products, however, they are buggered after about two/three cars max!!! Pricey too!
you'll be amazed how hard it is. I've used 4 inch LC pad and intensive polish with 2 hits on the bonnet and nothing really came off. Did depth reading before and after.
i'm doing my clio in the next week or so. Going to be using a 4inch LC pad and a 6inch Megs pad with the menzerna polishes. Just going to get the swirls off it with the g220. Then Blackfire gloss enhancing polish to cover any other imperfections before sealing. Got a few stone chips to do also. Might give Power gloss a go with a mezerna compounding pad on any deaper scratches, but i've got a depth gauge as said, so would tread carefully if you got that aggressive
I had to step up to Menz white compounding pad with Power Gloss PO203S in most places on mine last week to even touch some of the swirls!
The Sonus SFX-1 pad I initially started with did little to nothing!
