Well i have finnaly found out what my loud noise in the rear of my car is... When ever i went over a bump and loud squeek would sound.

Here is a pic, in order to stop the sound i have to lay a "cm" thick of cloths along the bottom water strip in the boot that runs above the top of the rear bumper

This then stops the loud noise??? If i drive along with the boot open its silent as well, so def coming from the stripes, what can it be folks? Boot not shutting properly?

Sounds like the boot catch bit on the car (little square loop with a torx bolt holding it in) is loose, I think its just a case of tightening it up - Im sure this was the case when I had the same issue with my 172.

yeh, is it a reno job or can i do it myself with ease?

DIY mate, if you can see the torx bolt, just tighten it, if not youve just gotta remove that bit of trim at the edge of the boot and then do it up (I cant remember if its hidden by the plastic or not cos mines been stripped like a b**ch for a while now lol

Hi mate. When i bought mine the boot rattled. As you can see in this picture when i first got it the boot would not shut. Made a terrible noise. thing is after the boot was fixed theres still lound noises coming from these strange pipes on my car. Why do they make this noise?? Why did i pay nearly £500 of them. NO IDEA!!!!

I wouldnt leave the cloths like that when its raining as youll end up with water in the car.

Are there any rubber bump stops that you could adjust? not really looked at the boot much on mine to know.

no there isnt really pete mate? And yes was thinking that Summeh, but Jon_r has once again been a huge help, and sujested that i try some spray on grease......
