What have you done to your car today ???

Velcro coins have been fine for me. Normal velcro strips failed instead, front plate nearly fell off the r26 recently when glue went😅

I've always spent a little more and bought a length of 3M Dual-Lock. Always used it in the events industry and it's one of the best fastening materials I've ever used. Especially for something that'll be taken off a lot (I used it on the Clio number plates). Doesn't wear out over time like Velcro does either.

Looks like quality stuff that.

Fixed the broken connector on my squib, now I have working cruise control again 😎

Time to flip the dogbone mount back the right way. This will probably take two seconds as it's only two bolts...

Oh right, the previous owner fitted the small bushing the wrong way round and put the wrong bushing insert in each end. Better press them out and start again then 🙄

Now that's sorted I'll stick a jack under the engine and replace some mounts

Bloody engine now sits about an inch higher on the driver's side, I guess the old mount was absolutely fucked 🤣

Also tried my best to sort out the 4th to 5th gear issue. The clamp on the linkage was interfering with the gearbox when shifting quickly. Tried about 10 times to adjust the linkage and in between losing 5th and reverse a few times, eventually ended up replacing the hardware with a different bolt and some washers. It was still hitting the gearbox sometimes so I got annoyed and just yanked on the linkage to try and pull it over towards the driver's side... which immediately fixed the issue 😎

All done in lovely weather, and followed by a couple of cold beers. A perfect day tbh 👌🏻
