What induction system is best?

  Williams 2 - Clio 1.9D
Hi all, got a MK1 16v and want to improve the induction to the engine. It currently has a Green air filter on it but what with it being exposed to the hot air that has come from the rad and general hot air from the engine bay I want to lower the inlet temperature.
I don't have fogs and have already installed in their place a couple of air feed trumpets in a kinda fake brake duct style look, so these could be used as inlet(s) I have been thinking of several options:

1. Buy a cheap 1/2 filter heat shield and cold air feed pipe
2. BMC - CDA style kit which I would have to make a adaptor bracket for so it will fit the throttle bodie (Unless anyone knows of such a bracket?)
3. Build a full blown air box out of ally or steel and run a cold air feed pipe from the bumper
4. Make a bracket for the throttle bodie and run a serious of s/s pipes & Samco down to a filter behind the trumpet in the bumper
5. Buy a Standard air box with performance element

Anyone who has ideas / pics of anything they think would work please post / pm me :S

Really, plastic standard airbox over everything else? Does this produce the most power through out the heat range then?
