They are the department that deal with keeping customers, hence the name retentions.

Most customer focussed companies have a similar department, at Sky they were called Turnaround

tellin me its a shite offer - they said they'd give me £10 off my line rental back in october and i never got the discount, so i phoned them up and they owed me £120! Lucky i realised or they would have got loadsa money outta me!

I always insist that they add a note on the account while I'm on the phone to them and then phone back 5 minutes later to check with another operator.

for some reason they can magically knock 100£ off a nokia n80 for me, even though the other monkey i have talked to for 15mins insists i havent spent enough to qualify for a reduction in price.

theyre crap. said i could have a free fone, £10 line rental for 10 months and theyd pay for all my calls and txts. Then when i said no they said the fone i wanted was old and outdated (bearing in mind it had only just come out!) then he put me on hold for a few mins and came back and said there was a bug in every 3G fone so i was better off not upgrading! I then proceeded to tell him to f**k off and close the contract and then i hung up! Twatface!

yeah when i rang today, i said about wanting the n80 and he said...well the n70 we have is just as good, but not slidey. I said no thanks, im after this model.

he then decided to let me know how good motorolla phones are, as well as sony ericsson, i politely said thanks but i wasnt interested as i had my mind set on the n80.

he then asked if i was sure and that looking at my bill i wouldnt be able to get the full usage of the n80.

well...i had to hang up

yes when i fones up and said i wanted the n80 , he nicely told me i didnt want that fone as its too bulky, he then went onto the features and said why dont i have the n70 , to which i said i need one with web access for work , and it has to connect through there network . took me ages till he back`d down and realised i wasnt guna settle for any thing else.

o2 retension dept is good..i said i was going to leave.. (which i wasnt).. so they gave me a free phone and knocked my monthly bill down from £35.. to £22.50... just try and blag it... say you are unsure whether to leave or not...

yeah when i have dealt with them before ive always managed to get a good deal, ie. got my k750i for free when originally they wanted 100£ for it on upgrade, just said i was going to cancel and he said oh well we can do it for free if you like.
