What is this?

I'm hoping a vague title will increase traffic out of pure curiosity.

Had some cams delivered from catcams today (after waiting nearly 12, weeks until winter 😤)

Both the cams had this little pin thing in the packaging. Does anyone know what it is for?

Oh amazing, thanks for the quick replies. I have these pulleys to go in too so I could utilise these.

But how does that work with timing the engine up? If you use the upgraded crank pulley with the keyway in it you have effectively removed all of the float. Is it still possible to time up with the normal tools?

Yes, you time them up as normal but with the pulleys all locked, you turn the engine over by hand to settle tensioner and then slacken off the cam pulley locks and rotate pulleys to adjust timing.

Would imagine you have an angle gauge with the kit no? Did they come with a timing sheet or anything telling you where to set them?

Need a dti and degree wheel, with the catcams tooling to hold the cams in place without cam cover on, to time them up bang on the money to the spec sheet.
