What is my 172 worth?

I am looking at trading in my 172 and was wondering what I could expect to get for it. Good points are that it is a clean 2001 Y reg in good general condition, 1 owner from new, FSH and has done 64K. Now for the not so good bits...

• It was imported by me through an agent. Not that bad I know but it has no alarm (didn't realise until I came here and found various threads on the subject!)
• It has a Magnex twin pipe exhaust - could affect sale price as standard is desirable?
• Cambelt change is needed

I am not expecting much of an offer from a dealer so was wondering what it would be worth privately or would I be better off fitting a Cat 1 alarm, standard exhaust and getting the cambelt done and then trying to sell?

Your thoughts are appreciated.

I bought mine with 72k (but it was 2 years old so mostly motorway miles) on it's a 51 plate and I got it just over two years ago. Mine was also an Import, UK Spec from motorpoint derby. I only paid £5300 for mine but got it off a mate at work.

Not too highjack the thread but who's got the most miles on their Mk2 172? mines done 95K now and is still going stong

I've seen a few with over 100k the highest I've seen is 130k.

However there will be some phase 1 172s with way higher about 2 years ago there was one with 110k on it so it must be over 150k by now.

I've heard a rumour there one with over 200k but it mighh just be a rumour/my bad memory.

That's encouranging, looks like my car wont be dying as soon as I thought

As much as 4K part ex - I was only thinking 3.5K max. Problem is, it will be traded at an Audi dealer and I can't see them wanting it.

to be honest alot of the cars are de-valued on here anyway, not really sure with the car being an import, i'd say your looking around the £3500 mark.
