What is the best GTA game ?

The Ballad of Gay Tony is undoubtedly my favourite GTA 'game'.

Although, I still remember being amazed the first time I played GTA3 - it was unlike anything I'd ever played before and really was the GTA in 3D that we'd been promised. Vice City took that and ran with it, adding a brilliant music, setting, and story. San Andreas was a step up, but I wasn't that much of a fan - it was getting weird, massive and it didn't feel as much as a GTA game as the other two.

Overal, Vice City. You could very well say GTA 4 but although yummy to behold and fun, it's just not the 80s

Yeah it's awesome. If they had expanded on that for the main game it would have been much better. The characters and story were much more GTA. I never really liked the Bellics. LATD was ok too, good to play a Hells Angel character and travel around with a Chapter.

Yup!!

Tbh the worst thing about GTA4 is f**king Windows Live, what a pain in the ballbag it can be at times, totally random as well! The biggest mistake they made! I really hope its gone for GTA5 however I very much doubt it.

Well just getting started on L&D now, as Ballad of Gay Tony seems to crash when loading after the first cage fight mission for some reason !

Might pick it up for 360 instead.

San Andreas was great, a major step in the GTA series IMO. Im not sure id think the same if I played it now though. Great atmosphere about it.

That said, The Ballad of Gay Tony and GTA 4 was excellent and pretty amusing at the same time. Not keen on The LATD

I can genuinely say that the most time I ever spent on a GTA game was the very first one!

That said, there was something slightly weird and yet enjoyable in Vice City when going hell for leather down a road while some radio station played 'Yes' and 'Owner of a Lonely Heart'.
